We all need a little travel inspiration now and then – even the most experienced travel enthusiasts. Therefore I was super happy when discovering my new favourite coffee table book The Bucket List: 1000 Adventures Big & Small By Kath Stathers.
The island of Gran Canaria is part of the archipelago of the Canary Islands, belonging to Spain. A short 4,5 hours flight from Germany, geographically located in Africa, the seven islands attract more and more tourists each year. As destinations like Tunis, Turkey and Morocco have increased in tensions, this European destination gets more popular in recent years.
Historically, the tourism here has been on the lower end but in recent years some very promising devolopments took place such as the Salobre resort, making Gran Canaria a spot for more lifestyle-savvy travelers as well. I want to share my personal best suggestions for restaurants …

For my stays I have chosen many hotels so far, the latest being the Westin Grand Berlin thanks to a great rate.
Considering the crazy growth of beds throughout recent years, most hotels cater for regular tourists with only …
On a recent business stay in South Africa, I chose the Protea Hotel Fire&Ice Melrose Arch for three nights as it was conveniently located for my meetings. I was not aware of Protea before but found out they do belong to Marriott so I guessed it was a sure shot. Read on to find out what I liked and didn’t and whether this is your option when travelling to Johannesburg.
I have never been to Kuala Lumpur before so when looking for hotels to stay during a short 3 day business trip I noticed how affordable the rates were. The Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur has solid reviews and is conveniently located in the city’s business & commercial district. Although it’s more on the mature end, I enjoyed the stay none the less.
For a short 5 hours flight from Kuala Lumpur to Taipeh, I booked AirAsia, a Malaysian low-cost carrier. They offer a class called „Premium Flatbed“ which is not to be confused with business class but offers some of the perks of it – first and foremost the seat.
