After falling in love with the island two years ago, A and I decided to return to magical Mauritius this fall. After some particularly busy weeks and lots of rain we were in desperate need of some beach vibes and sunshine. After experiencing a great first stay at The St. Regis Mauritius Resort during our first visit to the island, it was clear that this was the very best choice for our much deserved vacation. And what can I say guys? It was an amazing experience from start to finish.
A while back, I’ve shared my review on the Emirates Business Class Lounge at Dubai Airport which has become a top content piece on my blog. Through a funny coincidence, I was fortunate to spend a long layover in the Emirates First Class Lounge in Dubai lately. While I’ve stated back then that “the business class lounge almost feels like an own terminal”, the first class lounge is an own terminal with more perks then you’ll ever need. Read on to get a peek inside one of the most luxurious airport lounges of the world.
Dubai is a city with an incredibly high density of high class properties. There’s no second destination on earth that features so many first class hotel brands on such small territory. As I’m fortunate to be in Dubai very often, I decided to try a different experience this time and opted for the Taj Dubai during a short two day stopover.
As some of you might already know, Dubai owns a very special place in my heart since our first visit in 2013. Back then, A proposed to me during a very romantic dinner at the private beach of Burj Al Arab. While the beach is gone by now and taken over by another property, Burj Al Arab is still as iconic as ever. While you might argue whether it really is “world’s best hotel”, one thing you can’t argue about is its prime location on the Dubai coastline. Right where the sun sinks into the Arabian gulf, the Burj Al Arab still is one …
I feel impressed when a hotel delivers a truly unique experience. Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai definitely is amongst them. In recent awards it is not for nothing that Al Maha has ranked among the top 10 hotels in the world. Tucked away in the calm desert near the border of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi you get to discover an unique resort that combines incredible luxury with an approach towards sustainability.
After an exceptionally busy summer, A and I decided that it was about time to spend some quality time. We celebrated A’s Birthday with a short but sweet trip to New York and spent four amazing and sunny days in the Big Apple. New York is huge and four days aren’t nearly enough to see and do everything this amazing city has to offer. Good thing it wasn’t the first time we were visting, so we mixed new adventures with all time favourites. Continue reading to get to know more about how to spend a long weekend in New York City.
When first looking for flights to NYC, I was not aware of the fact that Singapore Airlines offers their connection from Singapore to New York through Frankfurt. After seeing the very convenient flight times too, the airline was set. As it was A’s birthday weekend, we decided to opt for Business Class tickets this time to make the most of the short stay. Read all about a business class experience that comes with a price tag but is really worth it.
We just needed to find the perfect NYC hotel – not an easy task given the fact that New York Fashion Week and the US Open were taking place at the same time. After hearing great things about The Knickerbocker we decided to go with this 5 star hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Continue reading and learn all about our stay in the Big Apple!
On my recent flight to NYC I had the pleasure of admission to the Lufthansa Business Class Lounge in Frankfurt Terminal 1. The lounge’s official name is “Lufthansa Business Lounge” and it’s located near Gate 24 in Terminal 1B. Our Singapore Airlines flight out of Frankfurt was leaving very early, so the lounge was basically empty when we arrived. Maybe for that reason it felt spacious and most of all: quiet!
