I love the summer in Barcelona and am staying in the city for work occasionally. After having been with the wonderful The Serras last time, I chose the Grand Hotel Central for my most recent stay. The hotel is perfectly located in the El Born neighbourhood and allows for some rooftop pool time as well which I appreciate a lot after a hot day in the city.
Manchester is packed with stylish bars, cafes & a wide variety of fantastic restaurants – apart from shopping of course. I chose the Hilton Manchester Deansgate for the weekend, as it is located in close proximity to all relevant spots and rather stylish. The hotel is located in the Beetham tower which is (at the time of writing) the highest building in Manchester.
After some exciting days in Hong Kong, A and I were ready for some quality time at the beach. We chose Hainan, a tropical island located in the South China Sea, which is also described as the Hawaii of the East. After hearing amazing things about it, we opted for the island’s most remote and luxurious resort: The Mandarin Oriental Sanya.

On my recent trip through China, I had a long layover at Hong Kong airport and decided to spend it in the American Express Centurion Lounge near Gate 60. Don’t be fooled by the name, the lounge is accessible for Platinum and Centurion cardholders alike and while there exist many reviews of the public areas, I find the private Centurion room in the backside worth mentioning which I was lucky to be a guest in.
I love warm and sunny weather and the calm of the desert. Ever since discovering the awesome Al Maha Resort in Dubai some years ago, I always wanted to go back recharging between sand dunes, Oryx and ghaf trees. That’s why I got excited when I learned about the Ritz Carlton Al Wadi desert resort which re-opened last year after a major refurbishment. It did not take long for A & me to spend some nights under the stars of the desert in Ras Al Khaima…
If you are looking for a place to spend the perfect day, the terrace of Burj Al Arab comes pretty close to that. After we’ve been there for a memorable sunset dinner a while back, A&I decided to return for a day during our time in Dubai. Read on to learn about the perfect place…
The town of Baden-Baden, located in the south of Germany, is not known to be a lifestyle hotspot. I was very curious when I saw some posts of the newly opened, modern Roomers hotel in Baden-Baden popping up. On a recent business occasion I had the chance to spend one night there and share my experience with you.
Emirates, being among my preferred long-haul carriers, is operating an extensive own lounge network. In 2015, the airline opened its first dedicated lounge in Japan, being located in Tokyo Narita airport. Read on to know what the experience looks like!
